Bicicleta en Família is a new initiative designed to encourage cycling among children and their families. The programme will begin on 21 June at Rambla del Raval and will be rolled out across Barcelona’s ten districts until December, with free sessions for learning and practising cycling.

The activity forms part of the cycling promotion initiatives linked to the Grand Départ Barcelona 2026 and aims to promote active mobility and physical activity through inclusive family experiences.

The programme offers three spaces tailored to different levels of learning. The Espai Començo! is designed for children who are learning to ride a bicycle, while the Espai Pedalo! helps them consolidate their skills and gain greater independence. Finally, the Espai Circulo! includes a family cycling route, with prior booking required and places limited.

The activity is aimed at children aged 3 to 10, as well as children and young people with disabilities who require a handbike, tandem or tricycle, always accompanied by their families. Participants may bring their own bicycles and helmets, although these will be provided for those who do not have them.

The programme is run by Biciclot and will stop in all ten districts of the city according to the following schedule:

  • 21 June – Ciutat Vella (Rambla del Raval)
  • 28 June – Sants-Montjuïc (Jardins de les Tres Xemeneies)
  • 12 July – Sant Andreu (Parc de la Pegaso)
  • 20 September – Les Corts (Plaça del Sol Baix)
  • 4 October – Horta-Guinardó (Les Rieres d’Horta Park)
  • 18 October – Sarrià-Sant Gervasi (Casal de Sarrià Civic Centre)
  • 25 October – Gràcia (Creueta del Coll Park)
  • 8 November – Eixample (Parc de l’Estació del Nord)
  • 15 November – Nou Barris (Parc de la Guineueta)
  • 13 December – Sant Martí (Jardins Clot de la Mel)

Sessions in the Començo! and Pedalo! spaces are open to all, while prior booking is required to take part in the Espai Circulo!.
