Granollers receives a visit from David Escudé and Christian Prudhomme within the framework of the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2026
Granollers will be the centre of attention on 6 July 2026, when it hosts the start of the third stage of an historic edition of the Tour.

This Wednesday, Barcelona City Council’s Councillor for Sport, David Escudé, and the director of the Tour de France, Christian Prudhomme, visited Granollers, the city chosen to host the start of the third stage of the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2026.
The institutional visit was attended by representatives of the Tour de France, Barcelona City Council, the Generalitat de Catalunya and Barcelona Provincial Council, who met with the mayor of Granollers, Alba Barnusell, and other members of the municipal council.
The definitive route will be made known during the official presentation of all the stages. Before this , the competition will begin on 4 July 2026 in Barcelona with a team time trial, while the second stage will start in Tarragona and end in Barcelona on 5 July 2026.
The arrival of the Tour de France in Catalonia is a great opportunity to raise the international profile of the region, consolidating its position as an epicentre for top-level sport.
