The Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team brings the excitement of the Tour de France to children at the Hospital de Sant Pau
The cyclists Joel Nicolau and Abel Balderstone, from Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, visited children at the Hospital de Sant Pau in a solidarity action for the Grand Départ of the Tour de France Barcelona 2026.
As part of the official acts for the Grand Départ of the Tour de France Barcelona 2026, the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team visited the Paediatric Service at the Hospital de Sant Pau to share some time with child patients and their families.
Some fifteen children welcomed the Catalan riders Joel Nicolau and Abel Balderstone, who on Saturday will be competing in the Tour de France 2026, setting off from Barcelona. During the visit, the cyclists spoke to the children and had their photos taken with them, as well as giving them various gifts and official merchandising items from the Tour and the team.
The activity was also attended by Martí Niubó, director of Planning, Strategy and Innovation with the Barcelona Institute of Sports, representing Barcelona City Council.
This initiative strengthens the more social side of the Grand Départ, bringing the excitement of the Tour to hospitalised children and demonstrating how a grand sports event can also generate moments of proximity, solidarity and hope.
