The period for participating in the poster contest for the Tour de France 2026 in Barcelona is now open

Today, 12 May, starts the period for submitting proposals to the contest to design the official poster of the Grand Départ, a creative call that aims to showcase local talent and the city's graphic identity.

For the first time in its history, the capital of Catalonia will be the starting point of the most important bicycle race in the world. It is an event with a glob-spanning reach that will bring the best cyclists on the planet here to ride through the streets of Barcelona and other places in Catalonia in the first three phases.

With the goal of promoting the participation of creative local talent, the Barcelona City Council and the Tour organisers, in conjunction with the ADG-FAD, have announced this contest to choose the poster and its digital adaptation. The design chosen will become the main international image of the Tour de France 2026.

Who can take part?

The contest is targeted at graphic design and illustration professionals—both individuals and companies—that want to contribute an original, creative perspective that represents the values of Barcelona and the Tour. The candidates have to submit a portfolio (anonymous), along with a CV and an affidavit.

The deadline for submitting candidates is 26 May 2025 at 5 pm, and the proposals have to be sent by email to concursos@adg-fad.org.

Two phases, one winning poster

The selection process is divided into two phases:

  • In the first one, a panel made up of design and illustration professionals and institutional representatives will shortlist four portfolios.

  • In the second phase, the teams chosen will receive a specific briefing to develop up to two proposed posters. Once they have been submitted, the panel will decide which will be the official image of the Grand Départ.

All the shortlisted teams will receive monetary compensation. The winning poster will also receive a monetary award, as well as a VIP experience at the Tour and a trip to Paris to attend the official presentation of the race.

An image with an international reach

The post chosen will be displayed in both printed and digital media, including banners, backlit displays, audiovisual formats and the social media. The design has to capture the essence of Barcelona and the greatness of a sporting event that inspires millions of people around the world.

With this initiative, Barcelona is reaffirming its commitment to promoting visual culture and its positioning as a host city of major international sporting events.
