3,200 cyclists take part in the 2025 Barcelona Bike Festival Bike Ride
The Barcelona Bike Ride brought together 3,200 participants yesterday who rode through the city from Carrer d'Aragó at the junction with Passeig de Sant Joan to the Arc de Triomf, where 8,000 people gathered to celebrate the Bike Festival, with 28 stands from organisations and activities for all ages.

Yesterday, 5 October, the city reserved some of its main streets for bicycles to take centre stage. At 10 am, Carrer d’Aragó, between Passeig de Sant Joan and Carrer de Sicília, was filled with cycling enthusiasts who came together to ride through Barcelona along its central lanes. The event is designed to promote safer, more sustainable and healthier mobility, while improving the environmental quality of the city.
Sunday’s event, the Bicicletada, or Bike Ride, with a route of almost 12 kilometres, filled with participants as it passed through the districts of Eixample, Ciutat Vella and Sant Martí. The route, which had to be altered slightly to avoid the works in Plaça Espanya, ended like every year on Passeig de Lluís Companys. Once there, everyone was able to join in the activities of the Bike Festival which, despite the rain for much of the morning, brought together 8,000 people in a family and festive atmosphere.
Activities, prizes and surprises
Those attending the Bike Festival were able to participate in circuits and activities promoted by cycling entities such as the Jocs d’Andròmines, RACC Mou-te bé on Tour, the Cycling Gymkhana, the Catalan Traffic Service’s Safe Mobility Park, the Reparatruck auto repair service, the Tucano Bikes Circuit or the cycling Scalextric. Cycling enthusiasts were able to try out bicycles and adapted bicycles and participate in a cycling skills competition. The exhibition “Barcelona i el Tour, un bon tàndem” (Barcelona and the Tour, a good tandem) publicised the Grand Départ of the 2026 Tour de France, which for the first time will take place in Barcelona, and exhibited the GDTF 2026 trophy along with the Tour’s mountain jersey. Participants were also able to take home a photographic souvenir of the bike day thanks to the Photocall service with instant print photographs.
Finally, at a quarter past one in the afternoon, the cycling prize draw was held, with ten prizes ranging from a folding electric bicycle from Tucano to helmets or cycling equipment and books illustrated by Pilarín Bayés.
The organisations and companies linked to the world of cycling that participated in the 2025 edition of the Bike Festival are: Areadaptada Association, BarcelonaBikePolo, Beats on Wheels, BiciZen, Bicicleta Club de Catalunya-BACC, Biciclot, Bicing, Central Bike Barcelona – Riese & Müller, Cooltra, Cyclolock, the Catalan Cycling Federation, Kids on Wheels, MF, the AMB Metropolitan Bicycle Office, PANOT MOBILITY, the Safe Mobility Park of the Catalan Traffic Service, Pororoca Sound System, RedBici – BiciRegistro, Roda Lliure Association of Bicycle Mechanics, Stop Accidentes, Swapfiets, Tattoobicycle, TRAM, TUCANO BIKES, Urban Motion Beelectric, VADEBICI – Cicloturisme & Vies Verdes, Whatabike! and Wheeling Barcelona.
A festival that raises awareness of how to use bikes properly
In the stand area, leaflets were also distributed with a map of the bike lane network and a reminder of the bicycle traffic regulations with information on where to cycle and how to do it so that mobility is safe, as well as the obligations and rights of cyclists. In addition, as every year, there was a supervised bike parking station, a charging point for electric bikes, a water supply service and a medical service for emergencies.
Sustainable mobility and civic responsibility are the keys to the Bike Festival and the Bike Ride, a popular event where families, friends, enthusiasts and organisations celebrate the use of bicycles in the city. In addition to the municipal department for Mobility, the Barcelona Institute of Sports, the Guàrdia Urbana city police and various entities from the Mobility Pact, which work together to promote a cleaner and more efficient city model, also participated in the organisation of the day.
