Gearing up for the Grand Départ del Tour 2026 with a historical exhibition at the INEFC

The INEFC Barcelona is hosting an exhibition on the Tour de France which opened on 25 September and ends on 31 October. The display looks at the relationship between the city and the Tour, coinciding with the countdown for the Grand Départ 2026, which sets off from Barcelona for the first time on 4 July 2026.
Installed in the western corridor of the campus, the display brings together photographs, materials and documents explaining Barcelona’s link with the most prestigious race in the world. From the editions of 1957, 1965 and 2009 through to the present day, Montjuïc has become the main scenario for this historical connection.
The Grand Départ 2026 puts Barcelona and Catalonia in the global sports spotlight for three historical days of cycling: a team time trial over 19,7 km between the Fòrum and Montjuïc (4 July), a stage between Tarragona and Barcelona with the finish line at the Estadi Olímpic (5 July) and the stage from Granollers towards France (6 July).
The exhibition at the INEFC is the symbolic starting point for this great event, inviting people to get an insight into the essence and memory of the Tour, with Montjuïc as an icon for international sport.
